Soul Coaching Day 3: Clearing

Today's Soul Coaching task is clearing clutter. I was deeply surprised by how emotional this was for me. It was clear to me that this stirring was related to the the request I made on Day 1: "I request the Universe's help in moving my forward in honouring self-expression."

Though Denise recommended clearing the very personal space of your bedroom or bathroom, I worked on my personal space: my studio. I walked in. Overwhelm. I walked out. Then I drew on Flylady's wisdom and decided to only spend 15 minutes decluttering. I added great music and a good cup of coffee and chose a small area of the room to clean and clear.

What amazed me was in this small area, there were the seeds of so many ideas and projects. I had piles of pages and folders, pictures and notes. Each one was a beginning, sitting on the floor, neglected. It hurt my heart.

Which reminds me of what happened last night.

Last night I got a call from my husband, "I'm almost home. I've found a really sick cat. I think she'll die if I leave her. What should I do?" I grabbed the carrier and headed out to meet my honey, who was walking down the street with this skinny, skinny beauty in his arms. We brought her in and called animal services. We gave her some water, some love and some Reiki and let her go. May she find love and care. And in this we were flooded with memories of the loss of our dear Bascha who passed away this year.

And so in this air week of clearing, lots of emotions are being stirred. And I'm seeing how much easier it is to be with my emotions when there is space to breathe.

Reiki and cats: a beautiful combination.

Once I found a dizzy bird in my garden. It had flown against my window. I gave it Reiki and within minutes it flew away. Sometimes Reiki is magic!

I am finding the same thing happening. Sending love your way.

Have you found a way to honor Bascha's legacy that helps nurture you?

Oh Jamie, that is so sad, the poor little kitty and memories of Bascha. How heart breaking. Man, sometimes I think we're in the water week, tears tears tears!

I'm sorry your room was so overwhelming but the good new is hidden in there are so many wonderful ideas, like a bucketload of seeds. You just gotta be Cinderella for a little while (maybe with Jynx's help, yeah right) and work through them and help them find their proper homes.

Your life, your world is a garden of creativity.

Jamie, I'm loving your Soul Coaching posts - I feel like I'm doing them right along with you. This clearing post is lovely, and now I'm feeling the beginnings of an urge to do the same here.

Oh, I wish I didn't have midterms or I'd be soul coaching right along with you kids! However, I have been bitten by the de-clutter bug and have gotten to work on reorganizing my studio--it bothers me that it's a space I use to make beautiful things, but it is the least beautiful part of my space. That just won't do! I plan to remedy this while I watch election coverage. :)

Thank you so much for sharing and posting about your journey!

wow, Jamie, what a tender day.

I know what it's like to see creative beginnings left behind. I really feel like they are children in some way, little lives un-lived.

That was beautiful of J and you to welcome that lost spirit into your home.

Wishing you space for new radiance.

I hugged my cat as soon as I read your post. He squirmed a little but he got his loving.

What a moving day. What glorious floor space! Did you dance in the new space yet? :)

She is a beauitiful cat. I think I'll go find our two and give them hugs when I'm done posting this.

It sounds like you are going though many emotions this week, I guess it's to be expected. Change comes hard.

While it hurt your heart to see, at least today's activity brought you back in contact with your seedling projects so that you may give them a new home until the time that you can give them more attention. Well done to you!

That's how I feel about the mess in my kitchen right now: overwhelmed. Congrats on pushing through it!
