Making the World a Better Place - your comments have been added!

Every day I pick a tarot card, asking the question, "What should I pay attention to in order to make this a really great day?" Today, the answer was "possibilities." Then I got an e-letter from Carrie & Danielle. This week's theme was "8 Simple Ways To Be Civilized And Kind That Could Make The World A Better Place." Their list included things like saying thank you (I love that one!) and saying hi to people you pass by. I thought maybe we could add to the possibilities.

Make the world a better place...
Note: I've added suggestions from your comments. Feel free to keep them coming! What a great list.
  1. My mom says that if everyone had a really great day we'd have a better chance for peace. Do your best to have a great day today and to make this a great day for someone else!
Leave each place you go a little bit nicer because you were there.
  2. Smile at people.
  3. Be your self. The world needs the real you.
  4. Call your mom.
  5. Tell someone you love them (preferably if it's true).
  6. Reconcile with someone.
  7. Encourage people's dreams, including your own.
  8. Cultivate great manners.
  9. Create.
  10. Vote.
  11. Dance.
  12. Don't take it personally.
  13. Share.
  14. Make cookies.
  15. Tell someone why they rock.
  16. Pick up a random table's tab at a restaurant.
  17. Buy a stranger a drink.
  18. Let that person on the freeway over.
  19. Make a child laugh.
  20. Ask, not impose.
  21. Explain, not complain.
  22. Hugs!
  23. Donate to charity if you can.
  24. Really listen to people when they talk.
  25. Sing like no one is listening at least twice a week.
  26. Teach others what you have learned
  27. Do small kindnesses for strangers and those that you love.
  28. Encourage others to be their real selves
  29. Create a safe atmosphere for those who are hurting
  30. Smile at a stranger.
  31. Open the door for someone.
  32. Make the world healthier, pick up a few pieces of random trash.
  33. Smile when you answer the phone. They can hear it.
  34. Let the other person go first.Take time to listen.
  35. Snuggle somebody (or some animal).
  36. Set a good example.
  37. Pick up litter of if you see it.
  38. Recycle.

What would you add to the list?

Excellent list Jamie! I love that the simplest things can really change the world. I would add:

Donate to charity if you can

Really listen to people when they talk

Sing like no one is listening at least twice a week

BTW, you've been tagged and are it!

Mmm... I like Suzie's suggestion that we really listen to others when they talk. Very good.

I would add:

*Teach others what you have learned

*Do small kindnesses for strangers and those that you love.

*Encourage others to be their real selves

*Create a safe atmosphere for those who are hurting

This is an amazing list! I am so glad to have read it this morning before I start my day. I want to let it ruminate through my heart today!

I guess I would add:
Smile at a stranger.
Open the door for someone.
Make the world healthier, pick up a few pieces of random trash, their always in my daily path.

Like the one of being creative, even those who do not consider themeselves artistic have the ability to create harmony with little things they pull together

With permission, would like to borrow this idea for my own blog post later in the week, it is too good not to share.

How about picking up litter if you see it? This makes the environment cleaner and more beautiful if we put trash where it goes.
