DIY Book Club

A couple of months ago I decided to start a DIY Book Club. The concept is that I put aside $10 a week and at the end of the month spend that on books/cds/dvds for myself. These are my January treats! I can't wait to dig in.
And when you listen to this, you'll know why I just had to get the Serena Ryder cd. I hope this song makes you smile as much as it does me.

i love it...i've never heard of her before...what a happy song...and it gave me a johnny depp moment...have you seen tim burton's version of charlie and the chocolate factory...the 1st time willy wonka meets the kids that come to his factory he's nervous and doesn't know exactly what to say so he quotes the lyrics of this song, 'good morning star shine the earth says hello'...really random but so funny because it's so random...

thanks for sharing this...i enjoyed it...

DYI Bookclub - yay!!! I am trying to remember what I got for mine in Jan,... Oh! Knitting Book and 2 DVD's: Nowhere to Hide and SPL / Killzone. Fun stuff.

I can't wait to do it again! I'll have to listen to the listenable item at home.

This is so much fun! I love your choices and I can't wait to hear what you think of the books :)

What fun! A great song that fits you perfectly! I Heart Huckabees is one of Mike's favorites, it is very odd, but has some truly great moments. And The Golden Compass is great (book better than movie!)

I saw Serena Ryder in a scummy little bar a couple of years ago before she put out this album. She has such a powerful voice. It was the only time I've gone to see a one-woman show there where the audience actually stopped and listened. Amazing :)

I read Golden Compass a few years back and remember liking it. Enjoy!

I love that play "Hair" I had the great pleasure to take my 7 year old daughter to see it performed recently at Dartmouth collage needless to say she was the only child in the theater when I bought the tickets at the box office the guy looked at me and said “your taking your seven year old to see this, Lady do you know what it is about?” I looked him strait in the eye and said “yah I saw it when I was seven and by the time I was 10 I knew all the words by heart and had play the record so many times it was full of skips”
She has a great deep voice and it is a wonderful version of the song! Thanks for sharing
